Boskalis ship attacked in Guinea by six robbers
Earlier this week (July 8), according to the International Maritime Bureau's Piracy Reporting Centre, six robbers in a boat armed with machine guns and knives boarded an anchored heavy lift vessel - believed to be the Boskalis ship 'Teal' - at Conakry Anchorage in Guinea
The report states that the robbers attacked the duty ordinary seaman, causing injuries, and took the second officer hostage, before opening fire to threaten the crew members and damaging the accommodation
The robbers then stole cash and personal belongings from the crew members before escaping
According to the report, the ship's master tried to contact the port control but received no response - Vesseltracker.com
The incident was reported to port authorities through the local agents
After an hour a security boat arrived at the location, said the report
