Ship got stuck in Kiel Canal
On July 2, 2016, at 3.30 a.m. the "Hekla" ran aground on the embankment of the Kiel Canal near Sehestedt Close to the wharf at Steinwehr enroute from Gdansk to Bremen
The canal was barred for shipping for short time before the traffic control Brunsbüttel allowed ship traffic in one way direction between Rade and Königsförde
The tug "Kiel" was dispatched from Kiel and pulled the ship back into the fairway at 7 a.m.
The tug then escorted the "Hekla" to the communal port in Rendsburg where it berthed at 7.50 a.m. and the water Police Kiel boarded the ship for investigations
