Nederlandse zeeschip gestrand in Zweden

Enroute from Husum, Sweden, to Motril the "Symphony Sky" ran aground off Husum
in the afternoon of March 26, 2017

It had just unloaded its load at the local power station and got stuck on the way
out of the bay short after leaving port at 2.30 p.m. with a crew of 11 from Russia,

The "Symphony Sky" was refloated off the industrial port of Husum shortly
before 8 p.m. on March 29 by the tug "Kampe"

She then proceeded to the quay in Husum under own power for a thorough inspection
During the day, divers had examined the damage to the ship

They found four holes in the ballast tanks and the water has penetrated into a cavity

In port an assessment will be carried out to find out whether it is possible to continue on to a shipyard for repairs

The Coast Guard was on site to assist the salvage efforts and have a response capability if oil leaked out in connection with the salvage

The ship was loaded with 1.000 tons pulp and destinated for Motril when it got stuck in the shallows at 2.36 p.m. on March 28

Attempts to get the ship off without external assistance by by moving the hatches and pumping out ballast water had failed
