Allision in Kiel-Holtenau
On June 25, 2017, at 9.15 p.m. the 'Ocean Freedom' coming from Duala,
allided with the 'Emma' in the Kiel-Holtenau locks of the Kiel Canal
The mooring manoever went wrong, so that the ship's aft pulled towards the 'Emma'
which was already berthed inside the lock
A crane of the 'Ocean Freedom' touched an antenna of the 'Emma'
which was knocked down
Further damage at port side could not be ruled out
The lock was closed for ship traffic until 10.15 p.m.
The 'Ocean Freedom' continued the voyage at 10.45 p.m. after the police had investigated the accident, and berthed in Fredericia at the Ocean Quay on June 26 around 9 a.m.
The 'Emma' which was enroute from Ijmuiden to Halmstad berthed at the Lindenau Yard
in Kiel on Juen 25 at 8.15 p.m. for repairs
