In the morning of Nov 10, 2012, the "Merwedijk" while sailing
outbound from the Europa Quay in Cuxhaven for Rotterdam allided with
the western jetty of the port.
At 5.13 a.m. the ship suffered an engine blackout and could not be
stopped by an emergency anchoring manoever. It ran into the jetty
in the port entrance which was breached by the ship's bow.
The "Merwedijk" continued its voyage in the morining of Nov 11
and reached the Amazone Port in Rotterdam on Nov 12 at 1.20 a.m.
and berthed at the Euromax Terminal at 8.50 a.m
