Wilson Hamburg ran into Brunsbüttel lock
On Jan 23, 2015, at 2.35 a.m. the "Wilson Hamburg“ enroute from
Saint Malo to Szczecin allided with the inward gate of the small Northern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel and caused severe damage.
Both gates could only be opened and closed at low tide since.
The ship berthed at the South Quay in Brunsbüttel and was allowed to proceed eastbound at 4.20 p.m. after investigations were finished.
The accident which happened in dense fog was thought to have been caused by human error. Bron Vesseltracker.com
