No decision regarding salvage attempt yet
In the afternoon of Mar 22 the "Selvaagsund" remained hard aground off Sumarsøyna with significant list to port and the situation being estimated to be critical
At 11 a.m. a small boat of the Coast Guard vessel "Tor" was on scene, followed by the larger ship with additional pump capacity at 2 p.m.
Rescue personell from the "K.G. Jepsen" and the Coastguard were feverishly working to pump out as much water as possible, and it was thought the ship was not sinking
The dredger on deck was swung out to starboard side
Also the tug "Silex" (IMO: 9085194) was requisitoned from Bergen
at 11 a.m.
The Coastguard was awaiting a clarification whether an attempt to take the ship in tow may start in the evening or the night
The crew was remaining on board, and no fuel spill was reported
